View-only members are different: 2 view-only seats are included free per firm and are never billed, with writes blocked at the database layer, not merely hidden in the interface.

AI is a per-firm add-on, not a per-seat charge, and every firm starts on the Free tier: $0, 40 generations a month, every AI feature unlocked. Paid tiers raise the allowance: Standard at $99 for 100 generations (letters only), Pro at $299 for 500, Power at $699 for 2,000. Overage is opt-in, priced per generation, and stops at a hard monthly spend cap the firm sets. AI can also be turned off — for the whole firm or for individual users.

Generative features run on Anthropic's Claude models under commercial API terms that prohibit training on your data. One narrow function uses OpenAI: text embeddings for search — nothing else. No audio goes to either provider: call recordings are stored for playback only, and voicemail transcripts come from RingCentral's own service, not an AI model. A firm can also supply its own Anthropic API key, so its AI traffic runs under its own agreement with the provider.

CSV import is built in: cases, clients, and intake leads, with per-column mapping and a preview before anything is written. Migrating from Filevine is an assisted migration — we work the export and field mapping with you — not a built-in one-click import, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Never. Lexboard does not process, hold, or route client, settlement, or trust funds. The trust and operating ledgers are recordkeeping: per-matter balances, a disbursement workflow, reconciliation records, and a trust ledger that hard-blocks any disbursement that would overdraw a matter's balance. Money moves through your firm's own bank and payment accounts.

No. Isolation is enforced in two independent places: row-level security in the database, keyed to your firm, and a firm-membership check on every API request at the application layer. Both would have to fail at once before a row crossed firms.

No. E-sign is native. Envelopes, signer disclosures, the timestamped event history, and the executed PDF are produced inside Lexboard — engagement letters, releases, and authorizations go out without a third-party e-sign account or per-envelope fees.

Cancel from the firm's billing page — it opens Stripe's billing portal, so cancellation is a button, not a phone call. Your data is preserved for 60 days after cancellation, and firm admins can export it as a single structured JSON file (the audit log also exports separately as CSV). It is deleted from primary systems within 90 days, except where law requires retention. No exit fee, no clawback, no mandatory transition meeting.

The honest answer: Lexboard is pre-launch, and there is no SOC 2 report, penetration-test attestation, or HIPAA business associate agreement to hand you yet. What exists is real: encryption in transit, integration credentials encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest (disk-level database encryption is our hosting provider's control, and we say so), two-layer tenant isolation, an append-only audit trail no signed-in user can alter, and share links with PINs, expiry, view caps, and instant revocation enforced where the bytes are served.
