How is Lexboard different from Filevine or Clio?

Filevine is for litigation teams of 50+ that can pay for a full-time admin; Clio is built for general practice. Lexboard is built specifically for personal-injury shops doing 20–500 active matters. The phase model, document templates, lien negotiator, and trust accounting are all opinionated for PI work.

Can I migrate from Filevine, Clio, or CASEpeer?

Filevine has a built-in API import. Clio and CASEpeer are CSV imports today (their APIs charge for export). For a full migration with documents and notes we'll get on a call, typical migration takes an afternoon for a 100-case firm.

What's the catch on the trial?

There isn't one. 14 days, every feature, no card required to start. On day 11 we email a reminder with a link to add a payment method. If you don't, your account pauses, your data is preserved 30 days while you decide.

Do I really pay for invited users who haven't logged in yet?

Yes, invited and active seats both count. This matches every other per-seat SaaS (Linear, Notion, Vercel). It avoids the gaming pattern where firms keep dormant invitations to claim cheaper rates.

Is the AI safe for confidential client data?

Lexboard uses an industry-standard AI provider under an enterprise agreement. Prompts and outputs are not retained beyond response delivery and are not used to train models. AI features are opt-out per firm and per user, admin can disable AI for the whole firm or individual seats.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel from the billing page in two clicks. We retain your data for 30 days for export, then permanent delete. No clawback charge, no exit fee, no demand for a 'transition meeting.'

HIPAA, SOC 2, malpractice insurance?

BAA available on request. SOC 2 Type II audit underway, Type I expected Q3 2026. Lexboard maintains professional liability and cyber-insurance, certificates available to admins.

Can I see the product before I sign up?

The trial is the demo. We don't run scripted Zoom walkthroughs, we'd rather you spend 20 minutes inside the product with a real test case. If you have a specific question email hello@lexboard.net and we'll answer in writing.
